Tinkerbell falls to death?

When my mom was young, she went to the opening day of its a small world, and the girl that they had dressed as tinkerbell was supposed to ride the line down to the entrance from one of those big mountains nearby. half-way down, the line snapped, and she fell to her death. I can't find a single article on it. Does anyone know where I can find something on it?
