West Indies fast bowler, Tino Best, who has been recalled into the side for the series against England to replace injured
Shannon Gabriel, has expressed excitement over the call up and is raring to go.
The 30-year-old Barbados fast bowler, who has not played for West Indies since 2009, earned a late ticket to England after Gabriel suffered a stress reaction in his back during the opening Test of the three-match series against England
at Lord’s, which the tourists lost by 5 wickets.
Shannon Gabriel, the injured Trinidad bowler, who made his Test debut at Lord’s last week, bowled only five overs during the match, claiming the prized scalp of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 before the back injury ruled him out of the match and forced
him to fly home for rehabilitation.
Speaking to media reporters before leaving for England on Tuesday, the Barbadian fast bowler described himself as fit and ready to wear the Baggy Maroon against any opposition.
"I've been waiting for my opportunity to represent the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 again and this is another opportunity to wear the 'Baggy Maroon' (cap),” said the Barbadian
before taking off for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
"I'm fit and feeling quite ready. I've been training and working hard, looking forward to this,” he added further.
Best’s last Test appearance had come in July 2009 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747. He was also included in the squad for a home One-Day series against Australia earlier this year, but the pace bowler did not get a chance to make an appearance for the Windies during
the whole series. He however, said that sharing the dressing room with the current lot was beneficial.
"I'm very happy to be recalled for the Test squad for the series in England. I'm a hard worker and I'm really delighted to get this opportunity," said the fast bowler, who has so far played 14 Tests claiming 28 wickets at an average of 48.67.
"I was in the team earlier this year when we played against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and I gained a lot of knowledge from being in the group,” he added further.
