Tinted moisturizer virgin

So what the heck is tinted moisturizer? Is it greasy? I have oily skin....would it look horrible on me? Does it smear other make-up when you wear it, like eyeliner? What if I normally have to wear concealer every day under foundation to hide dark circles under my eyes? Would it hide those, or would I still have to conceal them w/ something else? Is there a way to make it not greasy looking? I think Carmindy in What Not To Wear uses it...where does she get it? Sorry...I know tons of q's, but I just don't want to waste money on something that wouldn't work for me. I am curious tho. Tired of looking make-up-y. Thanks.

  1. Tinted moisturizer is basically liquid foundation that's been dilluted with moisturizer, so it gives a lighter, sheerer coverage. It will just blend into your skin just as a normal moisturizer. It probably will need to be set with a transluscent powder, but it still won't look super heavy.

If you're worried about an oily face, maybe try mixing a liquid foundation with an oil control moisturizer to make your own tinted moisturizer. If you don't want to spend alot of money, Covergirl CG Smoothers is a good cheap tinted moisturizer. If you like it, I'm sure you could find an oil control tinted moisturizer in a higher end brand.

It doesn't cover alot, so you would still have to wear concealer, but if you don't need the coverage of a foundation, you shouldn't use it. Tinted Moisturizer is much better for your skin.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Tinted moisturizer is just a light foundation -- like a regular foundation with added moisturizer.  Some are oil-free and some are not.  I really like Stila's tinted moisturizer.  It goes on smooth and evens out minor "flaws."  If you are looking for more coverage though, stick with a regular foundation.  A tinted moisturizer doesn't really cover anything, just evens out what's there.

  3. Tinted moisturizer is moisturizer with a touch of foundation in it.  You don't have to buy it.  You can mix it yourself with your own foundation and face cream or sunscreen.  If you have oily skin, this is not a good product for you, whether you buy it or mix your own.  Tinted moisturizer does not conceal at all.  It just adds a little bit of color to your skin.  Carmindy uses a whole lot more than tinted moisturizer.  Remember, she's on television, so she is wearing makeup designed for the bright lights and unforgiving camera.

If your makeup it too heavy, switch to a different formula and apply a smaller amount.  You can use Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation without moisturizer because it's so creamy, or you can use L'Oreal True Match, which is also a great foundation.  Use about a half of a dime size amount and apply it to your nose, forehead, chin and under your eyes, and blend it out from there to your cheeks and temples.  Blend really well, and be patient and gentle.  After that, apply your concealer.  If you apply concealer with a small, flat brush it will go on evenly and just wear you want it without looking like it's caked on.  It's also easier to conceal if you have a layer of foundation on first.

  4. It's basically foundation but lighter feeling.

I have an oily forehead, it looks fine on me. No, it doesn't smear.

I've never worn concealer under my TM, but on top is fine.

To make it not greasy, use loose powder to set it.

I'm not sure who that is. :/
