I am trying to make a gift for my niece. She loves dolls and has a doll house. I want to make her a tiny felt rug for her doll house. Any ideas?

  1. I think you'd get the best result on felt if you embroidered a design - paint and glue won't stick very well, I suspect. You MIGHT be able to rubber-stamp a design, tho - it would be worth a try if you can find a stamp you like (use markers to ink the stamp in different colors).

If you don't mind a suggestion, look into either printing or photo-transferring a design onto some washed muslin - your computer's graphics program can reduce a design to the size you need. Afterwards, you can either hem the raw edges with fabric glue, do a 'quick-turn' lining, or even just seal the edges with Fray-Check.

Good luck. It's a wonderful project - your niece will LOVE it!
