Tiny flies in soil of plant?

My indoor potted tomato plant has a few tiny flies that jump around the soil. Any ideas how to handle?

Those are fungus gnats.  There are insecticides to kill them with.  but the easiest control is to let the surface dry out completely between waterings.  They thrive if the surface is constancely moist.
