Tipping In Mexico!?!?!? HELP!!?

Is it OK to give little toilettry things to the maids when I go to Mexico (on top of American Cash) or would they just find that offensive..?

If it is a good idea, what kind of things should I give?

Lacey..................disregard the other answers. You said "In addition to cash" and I got that. Yes, they appreciate things like perfume, make up, etc. Those are expensive items here. Go for it.

We always leave a cash tip for the maids. She knows where the locals shop and can purchase things she needs at a better price than I could. Cash always rules when it comes to tips.)

It would be very very weird. And surely you don´t think maids in Mexico have a use for U.S. money, they are not business men, they need Mexican money. (I know you can change the currency, but they need Mexican money).

I think they would appreciate cash more. They are maids, they probably have access to all the toiletry things they could ever want.

i think you should just tip them. They may get offended, but either way they will appreciate the cash way more especially because they really don't get paid very much.

just give mades 10 pesos a day or a dollar bill restaurants 10 percent or 15 percent

Toiletry things?   They get as much as they want from the leftovers the tourist leave........money ......5 bucks a day.
