Question:

Tipping a cat sitter?

I have a professional cat sitter (the lady owns a pet supply store in town) coming to my house to care for my cats when I am on vacation next month. She will be coming 3 times to care for 2 cats. Each time she comes, she will brush them, feed them, give them fresh water, scoop the litter boxes and play with them for a while. In all, she will probably be here 20-30 minutes each time. She is charging $12.00 per visit ($36.00 total) . How much should I tip her??

Thanks....

  1. You shouldn't tip her.. she is a professional and she gets her 12 dollars.. This is a lot better that you found such a great solution for your cats. if you had to take them to a cat home whilst on vacation you would be charged 20 dollars for 2 cats.daily ... I know and all they do is put them in a cage and feed them and do the same this lady does.. so it is a lot better.. the animals don't have to leave their home.. Instead of giving her a tip... I would pay her her normal fee and bring her a souvenir back from the vacations ... just something nice to do with cats'' a small ornament or a doormat with cats or a pillow case with cats.. or a tea towel with cats on it.. anything of that kind..and a big thank you. I would get her a nice meaningful gift... maybe even something that says.. To a great cat sitter.. a cat theme gift. and a nice card and a personal warm hearted thank you..xx. x*x

  2. Boy that is cheap..I would give her 25 dollars maybe... 50 sounds like alot...

  3. She certainly isn't charging very much. I'd give her $50.
