Tipping in Canada? Restaurant?

in Vancouver, I had a $90 meal, with. $4.50 GST (Goods and Services Tax) Total is $94.50.

Service Staff only please. What is the appropriate tip for:

1) Fair Service

2) Good Service

3) Excellent Service

  1. $14, $16, $19.


  2. In the US, Canadians are extremely poor tippers. Upon visiting Canada, I would do what the locals do. Don't tip more than 10% of the pre-tax bill. It's what they do in the US. So, no more than $9.00 for your meal.

  3. I don't tip . they get paid . why should I give them free money ?

  4. 1) 10 % = $ 10

    2) 15% =  $14

    3) 20%- 30% = $19- $28

    I always round it up.
