Tipping in bars and pubs?

I am new to Australia, staying in Perth. Is it customary to tip in bars and pubs here? I have observed that most of the "locals" take back the change after buying a drink.

  1. Generally, no, we don't tip...its purely your choice....

  2. I do the same thing I do in every restaurant, no matter where I go. I tip depending on how much money I have, the quality of the food, the promptness of my service, and if I think the waitress is a ***** or not. If I'm not going to get decent service, then they don't deserve my money. I have integrity, and they need to realize that they need to work for their pay and not get handouts. Case closed.

  3. yeah we dont tip unless its a restaurant or u just feel like it cause they make a good wage anyway not like in an american diner where they need tips!
