  1. The A5 is cheaper now than ever before, and it is all around a better system.

It has a simpler construction and is easier to disassemble.  Not only that but is is more modifiable.  It has a wider variety of stocks, shrouds, and barrels in its thread.  It uses the same barrel thread as the newer X7 so new barrels released for the X7 will also fit it.

Its stock sights are also much more user friendly and much easier to use.  The vertical hand grip's position can be changed or can be removed entirely as opposed to the 98's integral front grip.

The most controversial piece, the Cyclone feeder system, is a matter of personal preference.  I like it because it really cuts down on ball chops and misfeeds.  If there is a malfunction however it is usually catastrophic and the Cyclone is easily the most complex part of the marker.  Not only that but the Cyclone accepts only a certain kind of hopper so it is not compatible with all standard hoppers.  All and all I would recommend the A5, but if you are really concerned about the cost then go with the 98C or the 98C Platinum.

  2. The only performance difference between the two is the cyclone feed, which you can add on to a 98 custom for 60 bucks, so its all about personal preference, its also easier to field strip but thats about it.
