Tips and Tricks to pool?

Does anyone know any tricks or tips to pool or any links to videos or somethin like that and also i was wonderin if anyone knew about this trick i once heard of. its something with the dots around the pool table and math. like which dot the pool stick is and where your shooting or somethin like that but im not sure.

There are a number of good books out there to learn from, as well as DVDs.  In addition to that many pool halls will have someone willing to show you the different methods used for determining how to shoot a particular shot, some for free, others charge.  There are also special training aids, the Jim Rempe cue ball for instance
