Tips for a beginning pool swimmer?

hi guys, i'm a longtime runner who wants to include swimming into my daily workout. any tips for me? i have a hard time staying afloat, and i would like to learn how to do that type of swim where they paddle their feet and bring their arms up and down in a circular motion. don't know the name of that type of stance, sorry!

  1. Standing in deep water, moving your hands in a circular motion, and kicking your feet lazily is treading water.

    You can do this for a long time without tiring if you relax

    But if you want to learn how to swim, buy a mask, snorkle and flippers

    Learn how to breath through the snorkle, then just power swim with your legs, (no hands, unless you want to) and just travel, you will love it.


  2. Try a few lessons with a swim instructor.  Learn stroke and breathing the proper way.  You will  also feel more secure in doing so.
