  1. Relax, and what ever you do keep your knees bent.

  2. back straight, and knees bent.... if you bend your back, you WILL fall straight on your face...

  3. stand bout shoulder width apart with your feet pointing outward, take little choppy steps. if you need to stop simply drag a foot. goodluck

  4. the best thing is to first hold onto the boards until you get a feel for it. then slowly push off but stay close just in case you need to grab back on when you lose balance. i used to teach skating and we used to tell first timers to 'march like they were in the army' instead of gliding at first because its easier...then start to slowly glide once you find your balance....hope this helps! oh yea....probably not a good idea to hold onto other people unless they are balanced and good skaters other wise...well...DOMINO EFFECT haha

also keep your belly button over the foot your standing on to keep balance...have your feet underneath your hips and shoulders and keep your arms out for balance too!! Gliding forward with your knees bent and arms out will help regain balance and look straight ahead, not down. its dangerous and will most likely help you to fall.  also dont be afraid to fall. its going to happen. the important thing is to know HOW to fall. you never want to fall on your face or back if you can help it. try to almost slide out to the side arms first to help the impact...but sliding while falling is key to not hurting youself. normally when teaching beginners we make them fall on purpose first thing that way they arent as afraid and know how to fall and also know how to get up!! the easiest way it to kneel on both knees...put one foot up...push off your knee of the foot you put up with your hands and pull the other foot up.

    Good luck and have fun!!

  5. hold on to the side or a mate

  6. um when i learne to skate when i was 2 i marched becaues my coach said to march and when you think your about to fall bend down and hol your knees and when you fall ln the most padded area on your body

tell me if this helps have fun

  7. First go close to the wall and skate along it until you think you have enough feel of the ice to go without the wall.

When you have enough feel take a small push of the wall and skate forward with your knees bent, arms out, and feet a few inches apart. Just glide forward. Take a few more pushes. Soon you will get use to it.

GOOD LUCK! skating is really fun so i hope you have fun!!

  8. Hi!=D well i have some advices here that may help you:

Bend your knees, start with the wall, or with a friend (if u can rollerblade or in-line skating it will be easy) mantain the balance, you should go first slow and then go faster. Just skate normally.

Oh! and in not falling over, well, you dont have to be afraid of falling, b/c you will , but it doesn´t hurt, tell me... what will happen if you just fall skating normally and carefully, Oh! you will get wet =O Please is ice!=D

  9. I skated once when I was a kid. I fell over 45 times in 30 minutes. Wear ironing boards on your feet.
