My daughter just finished Day 2 of her freshman year of high school. So far she likes it but it hasn't really started rolling yet. Could anyone share their favorite survival tips for her?

  1. Take typing and computer related classes. Take advantage of computer repair classes. Computers are the future and everybody use them. You would be at an advantage if you can get simple computer problems solved on your own. It's amazing how so many kids don't know anything about it, and don't even know how to type.

Don't give a d**n about what her peers think. They don't pay your bills and most of them will mean little in the future. Nobody gave a d**n about the trends 5 years later.

Don't date. Very few relationships last in HS and it's pointless. No need to have s*x.

  2. my freshman year was great because i made it great

so my advice to her is to:

    1. make good friends, she should want quality, not quantity

    2. get involved in school [clubs, sports]

    3. grades will always matter

    4. plan her time carefully

    5. don't procrastinate

    6. don't get too distracted by the opposite s*x

    7. know her limits [don't overwork]

    8. be prepared

    9. make good decisions

    10. don't give into peer pressure

those are the things i basically followed in my freshman year

    best of luck to her
