I am a bit of a clutter-bug. My husband is a neat-nik and he is on to me all the time about keeping every thing neat. I need some lifestyle changing tips and advice about how to get organized and stay that way. No fly lady please, just some tips and habits that you use that might help me, thanks in advance. He's on my back enough about so much else that if I could change this little thing about myself maybe it will help...

  2. Put things away as soon as you have used things, have bins and some type of items to differentiate and find things swifter.

  3. I really think you two should sit down and have a talk . You tell him why you keep things, one drawer or item at a time, with him quietly listening. Then he tells you why it would be good to get rid of x, y and z. Then you decide together what to do. Maybe you need to buy "too much" so you'll feel rich or maybe you are collecting up things for a project that will happen down the road. He doesn't know and you haven't told him. You can't live a happy life together with him judging you all the time. This sounds very one-sided, but then we are only hearing your side of the story. It would be a shame to do this for 30-40 years, so have that talk and set limits, how much can he deal with, and how much are you willing to reign in the clutter?

  4. Get rid of unnecessary c**p.  Stop buying c**p and throw away all that paper you save.
