  1. Here's how I teach my players:

1: develop a routine before getting into a serving posture. This will help you focus and build confidence. (bounce ball, breathe)

2: Start with the ball held high at eye level, ALL of your weight is on your back foot. (I kick my players front legs out from under them without them falling or changing posture) Serving hand is back with Elbow above shoulders. You should be standing with your left shoulder turned in front of your right (if righthanded)

3: Tossing: I don't call it a toss, I call it a lift because I do not want you to lower your shoulders or throw the ball too high. Lift the ball about 2 ft over your head and out in front of you!!!

4: as the ball is in the air, take a step forward with your left foot, transferring your weight from back right foot to front left foot.

5: your arm, shoulders and wrist should be "strong", tighten those muscles as you contact the ball. CONTACT THE BALL ABOVE YOUR HEAD... You should be looking up when you contact. Contact the ball in FRONT of you...

6: Finish your arm swing with your arm pointing to where you want the ball to go...

    Common errors:

#1 bad "lift"....Often newer players toss the ball behind them causing them to arch their back and lose strenth

#2 Contacting the ball at eye level rather than above and out in front

#3 not taking a step. Younger players need to get their entire weight into the ball to get it to go over the net, arm strength is not enough

#4 Noodle arms...a arm, wrist or shoulder that isn't tight or a "frozen rope" will not be a solid enough surface to put power in the serve

#5 Trying to "crush" the ball. Swinging the arm so violently that the player loses balance and body control

    Hope this helps!!! Good Luck

  2. you should do some push ups every other day to strengthen your arms.  Keep adding more push ups every once in a while.

You have to focus on each individual serve.  Make sure you don't toss the ball behind you.  It should land in front of you if you let in drop, not hit your shoulder.

  3. December? dang thats late my t-os are next week! ANYWAY! lift weights to strengthen your arms and remember its all in the toss. and of course practice and have confident. If you don't believe it will go over then odds are it won't!

  4. find a wall, anywhere where you're FAR away from breakable things (=p)

get about ohhh, i don't know five or six feet away from it and SERVE.

    repeatt.

and alot of it is just arm stength.

    push ups are a musttt.

    hope i helped you!
