most of the racing programs have the last 5 races for each dog -- compare their times and usually the programs also have their picks -- if the track sells any other tip sheets then spend the 2 bucks on one of them and follow their advice , it is usually better then just picking blind

Try and figure out which dog runs the fastest.  and if you can which dog most likely is motivated to run faster than the other dogs.
