Question:

Tips for black and white photos on your Holga

I got myself a couple of rolls of black and white film, mainly because they only had black and white in 120. But anyways, I have the Holga with the color bulb. You know where you can rotate it and there's red, blue, orange and well.. regular. Well I was wondering what kind of fun I could have with my b&w film and my rotating blub. Or is it even possible?

ps. to the person who sent me those links on unloading and loading your camera, THANK YOU! I felt like an idiot after watching them. Your answer was very much appreciated. :)

  1. A red filter will increase contrast of  bw photos. Not sure how that works out with the Holga flash filter. Flash photos tend to be contrasty to start with. Experiment with the filters and your film, it will be fun!

  2. The film is b&w so it won't show colour.  But.........

If your flash is illuminating someone red, green or blue, that will have an effect on the b&w tonality just as if you had put a red, green or blue filter on the lens.

Here's an example of b&w with coloured filters so you get the idea!
