Question:

Tips for creating a stage name?

by  |  earlier

My full name is Rosanne Vernetta Leigh

I normally go by just "Rosanne" or "Rosie"

Any suggestions about shortening it up to create a stage name?

Or anything you may think sounds short and memorable?

All suggestions appreciated!

Thanks :)

  1. Stage names are created from your mothers maiden name and the name of your first female pet

    OR

your middle name and the name of the first street you lived in.

  2. I  like your name and if you think it is to long keep it Rosie.

  3. I have always heard to create your soap opera name  you use your  middle name and the street you live on.....For example, yours could be Vernetta Elm.........Just a thought : )  Good luck.

  4. Rover Leigh

  5. I think Vernetta Leigh sounds good. Really good, in fact.

  6. Depends on what type of movies you want to do.

    Comedy- Rose-Vern

    would be good

  7. There's absolutely no reason why you need to have a stage name. That's something that was prevalent in the studio system 60-70 years ago, but unless you join Actor's Equity and someone else has the same name as you, there's no reason to use another name or alter your own. (If you did join AEA, it would just be a matter of adding or subtracting a middle initial, or something like that.)
