Well... Her favorite color is yellow. Know any places where they sell cheap nightstands?

  1. I think you should paint the walls green to start. Not bright green or mint green but a lovely soft apple green. Dark brown furniture and soft furnishings in pinks, greens and orange. Soft furnishings are easy to replace as she gets older and bored with the look and the furniture will grow with her as she matures. Keep it fun and add plenty of different textures. Shaggy, silky etc.

  2. If you don't want to have to redecorate it in 4 years then I would do a solid color that she will like when she's 16...maybe try a light blue, purple, or green. I wouldn't do pink just because she may think that's too "little girl" when she begins highschool.

I would go to websites like PBteen.com, bedbathandbeyond.com, and kohls.com and see the room setups they have for ideas.

  3. What is she into?

I mean, horse shoes and saddles would be so wrong for a girl into tennis.

    Music,sports,games,internet?

Decorate with what she loves and you can't go wrong.

  4. not to be stereotypical, but i would suggest having wall colors like pink, orange, etc..

since it's for a 12 year old, then maybe add a bean bag chair thing.(:

and definitely a desk, bed, etc..

as for the desk and the bed, etc you can paint pictures on the drawers and such with that 12 year old so that later, she can remember fun times she had when she was painting it.

plus, it'd be a good bonding time(:
