  1. I play water polo!

When i was first learning to eggbeater my coach suggested practicing the motion outside of the water.  you have to sit facing backwards in a chair so ur knees are farther apart then practice the circular motion with your legs.  Practice this all the time then when u get in the water, try to move ur legs in the same way.

make sure ur knees are high and far apart

  2. The skill of eggbeating is the toughest skill to learn for new water polo players, but obviously the most important elementary skill. Over the years I have taught hundreds of kids how to eggbeater, the key is to keep your feet flexed and create a rhythm. Remember and visualize your feet grabbing and pushing the water. Use various mediums to practice such as sitting on a chair, a bed, the side of the pool; or if you are in the pool, use the side of the pool, a kick board, or other flotation device. Remember that while this might be a difficult skill to learn, once you get it down, it will become second nature to you.  Good luck!

  3. you should try it outside of the pool first, by sitting ont eh edg of the pool and rotating your knees and have your feet just make circles around your knees.  And the further apart your legs are the easier it is.  also you should sit in the water like you're in a chair.  just remember to keep your hands in the water and keep sculling.  when you get better you should try to keep your hands out of the water.

  4. It will get better... I sucked so badly when I started.  Try sitting on a chair and try to eggbeater or in the pool hold on to the side and eggbeater with only one leg and then switch.  When you get good at both sides try to put it together.  Good luck
