Tips for finishing Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception on Crushing
Naughty Dog made Uncharted 3 a game that any level of gamer could play to either enjoy and/or challenge themselves and Crushing difficulty can prove a tough task for many.
Nathan Drake is one of the most resourceful, and not to mention lucky, heroes that the world of video games has been blessed with. It also helps his likeable rating that he, apart from being extremely agile, has a witty sense of humour and is always able
to look at the bright side.
Anyone playing Uncharted 3 on Crushing should adopt the philosophy of Mr. Drake if they wish to enjoy the game and follow our extensively researched, yet suspiciously general, tips.
Guns, Grenades and Fists
Naught Dog have given gamers a whole array of ways to take out the enemy AI; be it with some brutal hand to hand combat, a diverse arsenal of firearms or with some of the most fun to use grenades in any game.
Players should make use of all of these; here are a few simple rules that if gamers follow, will aid them greatly.
Firstly, if there is a group of enemies a grenade should be the first thing that ought to come to a player’s mind.
Secondly, if the enemy is at a distance that can be described as between medium to long range, the firearm should be used in short controlled bursts.
Lastly, if the player finds himself at medium to short range of the enemy he should take out his sidearm and attempt to rush them. A few shots from the pistol and a quick hand to hand combo to finish them off is not only a great way of saving ammunition,
but one also feels bad a** in the process.
Stealth
It should be the first approach to any level. Players will find it is always best to thin down the enemy AI with a few stealth kills before riddling their friends with bullets. Almost every stage can be completed with stealth, though it is more of a challenge
and requires a fair amount of patience.
Our tip is to start out stealthy and then bring in the fire fights later on.
Heavy Calibre weapons
Sniper Rifles, RPGs and Grenade Launchers, as well as a few side-arms, fall into this category. Players will find these weapons do not have too much ammunition to spare so every shot should be made to count.
It is best if one knows they are going into a difficult situation to have at least one of these weapons on hand, especially against the armoured brutes that love to spoil the party by soaking up an incredible amount of bullets.
The same foes can be dealt with in one or two shots with one or two of these heavy calibre rounds.
Never carry two of the same
To carry two similar weapons defeats the purpose the two weapon slots were offered for. It is best to mix it up. Either keep a single shot/heavy calibre primary weapon with an automatic sidearm or vice versa.
This allows the player to be versatile and tackle any type of foe that comes his way.
