Tips for first-time faster?

Salam. This is my first time fasting. I am 12. Any tips on how to NOT break my fast> i Know its going to be hard coz If I miss lunch i feel sick so....but i wanna try and be successful! I wanna even fast in school, evben though I will most likely get cramps. Can I take medicine during ramadan if i et cramps which i most likw will get coz i have a fast metabolism in toher words my food digest fast and i get hungry easily.

  2. First of all - congratulations! May Allah accept your fasts and prayers and make your path easy. To answer one of your questions, no, you cannot take any medicine during your fast.

    The best tips I can give you it to get up early and have a good suhoor. Eat foods with complex carbohydrates that take longer for your body to break down and give you more energy like brown rice, whole grain items, etc. Also, protein, which takes the longest to digest (meats, nuts, etc.) is something good to have. Water is also a must.

    Even with these precautions, the food in your stomach will be digested within four hours but the hunger is a huge part of the fast. We, the blessed, who have food and water bountiful are reminded of those who do not - the main reason of the fast. Sacrifice is also important - realizing that there is a higher power than yourself to be submitted to.

    This Ramadan will be my fifth year fasting, insha'Allah, and I'm fifteen. I pray that Allah (SWT) makes your path easy and surely you will be blessed. After the first day when you feel the accomplishment of your actions, the proceeding days won't be so challenging.

  3. you must have suhoor before fajr.  This will help you a lot.  So wake before fajr, evem if its 30 minutes before fajr and have a bowl of cereal and some water/juice or whatever you want.  avoid caffeine because it will make you go to the bathroom more often and thuis make you feel dehydrated. eat a good meal at maghreb time, load up on carbs and proteins and keep drinking as much as you can.  Inshallah it will be ok.  I wish you the best

  5. I would say, you are only 12 so dont fast all days. Just go for like 3 or 4 fasts in week. And especially if you have school then make sure you fast on less strenous days, and on the weekends.

    As far as food is concerned, drink lots of water a sehri so that you dont get dehyderated during the long hours of the day, keeping in mind its goign to be a pretty warm Ramadhan.

    Do not skip Sehri for any reason.

    After Iftari at around 9 o clock, try to take another snack like like fruits etc.

    Eats lots of Fruits.

    Try to offer tahhajjud before the sehri, even if its as less as two Rakaat, do offer Tahajjud, that will be a good start.

    2ndly read Quran as much as possibly you can.

    Edit: If you are ill then you shouldnt put yourself in trouble. That will be going against Quran too. Quran clearly says that, you shouldnt fast if you are ill. And you are also only 12. I woul suggest you to ask your doctor first, or fast the first day of Ramadhan and if you feel OK then carry on other wise stop.

    You will inshalla have a long life to fast all your life. Dont put yourself in trouble.

  7. I used to fast when i was at school and i didn't feel any problems during first week . When u do it with love Allah gives you the strength.

    But since i have low blood level , i experienced some problems after a week.

    But know that it's better not to fast than to break it. Don't fast those days when you feel weak . And have strong suhur , much water , and so on.

    Try not to run-jump , play spost games , you'll get thirsty. Be calm. Only do your fasting and study your classes.

    May Allah accept your fasting.
