  2. I fly to and from the Philippines from the US and as Tillie said, it is a long flight.  I have two stops, Detroit and Japan, with a total trip time of about 22 hours.  Thing is just relax and enjoy the flight.  You will find sleeping helps pass the time and gives you a little rest to help adjust to the time change.  The over seas flights now have in-flight movies which help pass time too and each passenger has a set of headphones for listening to the movies or to just listen to music if you desire.  Since 9-11 they have placed a lot of restrictions on what you can and can't take on the flight with you, but you can take a book, crossword book, small radio w/headset, and other items to help pass the time.  Please feel free to email if you want to ask any questions and I can try to go into more detail.  Good luck and have fun.

  3. yo little girl. just dont talk to those koreans and whites on the plane. do ya good in the future. watch the movies and sleep. ya mite not wanna eat the airplane, but bring extra money just in case you get abducted. little girl, have a safe and happy summer, and hopefully you'll come back. HA

  4. I have been flying since I was very young - first as an "unaccompanied minor", then, of course, on my own. I flew to Japan when I was 12, almost 13 on an Asian airline (JAL) That has to have been one of the BEST flights of my life! Now, it has been ... almost 20 years so the service might have changed since then, but the food was great and the hostesses brought around warmed towels to wash faces and hands with (which is customary in Japan.)

It was also one of the longest flights of my life. Bring a book to read or a puzzle book to do (or both!) Paper to write letters on or a journal, DVD to watch on a portable player, a dictionary and some exercises to sharpen your lanugage skills, a map of S. Korea to study over, etc. In other words: Something to DO. When you've exhausted all the stuff you bring to do, try to sleep. The jet-lag you experience from such a long flight will be greatly helped by trying to sleep on the plane. When you touch down in Korea you'll be a little more prepared (and alert) for the onslaught of family affection and attention as you disembark.

Above all, don't worry and have a great time!
