My friend and I are heading to Disney World next weekend. Any tips on lines for rides and such? We're going to Animal Kingdom and The Magic Kingdom only.

  1. I suggest park hopping. Go to animal k in the morning, get there when they open, head to the biggest attractions like the Safari ride and get a Fast Pass, then head to another big attraction like Everest for a short wait in line. Stay until a little after lunch and leave once the park is filled up. Go enjoy a meal at a hotel or other restaurant and then head off to Magic Kingdom in the late afternoon and stay all night. The crowds die down after the parades and fireworks. Hopefully if you are staying at a DIsney resort, they'll have extra magic hours in the evening so you can enjoy low crowds. Be sure to use FastPass, and while you're waiting for you return time to roll around, go on something w/o a long wait time. If you're going for two days, i suggest the same game plan for day two. This is what we do everytime we go and we have a great time.

  2. well i practically live at disney so heres what you should do.

    definitely ride expedition everest

but do that first because everyone wants to ride it.

at magic kingdom you have to ride all of the mountains.

    ie:space mountain,thunder mountain,and splash mountain.

  3. Go to the parks as early as possible because that's when all the fast passes are available.

  4. Glad to hear you're going! I've been 8 times and I love it!

I'll give ya all the facts. Rides in the Animal Kingdom are awesome. They have It's Tough To Be A Bug, The Dinasaur Ride, and a new roller coaster that recently opened. Expedition Everest! It is so much fun but warning! Only ride it if you're not afraid of heights, being in the dark, dropping, winding tunnels, or going backwards (or yetis! :-) . The Magic Kingdom is the most magical park of all. It has so many rides, parades, and much more (including Cinderella's Castle!) . It's got 3 roller coasters- Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Space Mountain. All are terrific rides. A fun thing I like to do while I'm there is look for Hidden Mickeys. You can get a Hidden Mickey book at a bookstore or at Disney World. A good way to chop off lines is usin the Fast Pass option. Fast Pass is simple and free. You simply go to an attraction that has the Fast Pass feauture (don't worry you'll see a sign :-) and insert your park tickets in the Fast Pass machine and out pops your Fast Pass and ticket! Your Fast Pass will have a certain time on it from which you may com back to enjoy your ride with a mininum wait. While you are waiting for the time you may wait in line for another line (but only 1 Fast Pass at a time!) . Have fun in Disney!!!!! Hope I helped :-)

  5. First any theme park tip.... Get there right before the park opens. Disney will let you in the gate before the park opens but not into the actual park. once they let you in, try to go on the more popular rides (usually thrill rides/coaster) first and then work you way to the other rides.

Use the Fast Pass tickets to your advantage.  these tickets are available only at the most popular rides and for all park guests.   you slide your ticket into a machine and it prints out a ticket with a time for you to come back. you will get to skip the line. usual wait time is about 10-15 minutes or less.  you can get fast pass for one ride and then get in line for another.

go on the Disney website and make a list of the rides, shows, parades, etc. and make a list of what you don't want to miss and go on those rides first.   if you miss, say, the carousel, you won't be as upset as if you miss space mountain.

My list of favorite rides at the park

    Magic Kingdom.

    Space Mountain

    Splash Mountain

    Thunder Mountain Railroad

    Pirates

    Haunted Mansion

    Philharmagic

    Buzz Lightyear

(there are more rides but those are the ones i try not to miss)

    Animal Kingdom

    Kilimanjaro Safari

    Expedition Everest

    Nemo, the musical

    Festival of the Lion King

    Dinosaur

Tough to be a Bug (see sign before going on this ride)

    Kali River Rapids

  6. there is a lot of fun stuff to do in both parks. the big rides for magic kingdom are splash mountain and that thunder train or whatever its called. for animal kingdom u might wanna get there early if u plan on riding expedition everest, cus when i was there the line was as long as the ride:)

  7. I am going to agree with most of what everyone says use fastpass to your advantage on the big rides like the mountains at MK, but also I would really keep in mind what angelcud.. says. Animal Kingdom is the largest of parks don't be crisscrossing back and forth pick a part of the park like in Disney's Animal Kingdom (DAK) finish a land at a time do what you want in Africa then go to Asia don't back and forth it because at the end of the night ur going to be wiped out. As for MK decide what you want to do. If you want to see the parade pay attention to the time and location. IF you're really only in it for the rides then parade time and firework time are ur best chance to hit the major rides like splash/space/thunder mountain.

  8. Frequent breaks. Do not go in with a "gung ho" attitude because you will be miserable and grumpy.

Have fun and get there before the park opens. Because Disney will allow you to enter just before the park opens.

Have a plan....think about what you want to see. Try to ride the rides in each land then move on to another. USE FASTPASSES when ever you can. The Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are far too big to run around in circles.

I hope you made your dining reservations for any sit down meals ahead of time...they book up fast. Casey's in the MK on Main St. is a GREAT place to get a bite (hot dogs / hamburgers / fries and soda). During the 8:30 fireworks show is great time to stop there.....arrive at 8:00pm to find a table.

If your staying on Disney property make sure you remember your building number and room number because you can have any purchases sent to your room so you do not have to carry them around.

You will not want to miss the THREE mountains

    Space Mountain - Tomorrowland

    Thunder Mountain - Frontierland

    Splash Mountain - Frontierland

  9. Definetly ride the the buzz lighter thing. It sounds kiddy but it is really a good ride and you don't have to wait long.

  10. Well i just came back from Disney World last night and it is great. you should get the FastPass so you will be able to skip in front of people in line. Its free too but there is a certain time that you can use it.

The Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom is great!! :)

    You should check that out.

at Magic Kingdom they have a parade during the middle of the day ( i was it in) and they have a fantastic firework show at 9pm.

Space Mountain is a cool ride too! Its an inside roller coaster but it is cool. The Haunted Mansion is okay.. but since i don't know how old you are i don't know your preference would be. (i am 14 and it was alright)

The Pirates of The Caribbean ride was good i heard. I didn't get a chance to ride it because i didn't have time because of the parade.

Splash Mountain is a cool water ride too! ( YOU WILL GET WET!!)haha.

Email me anytime if you need anymore info.

  11. For rides, see this, which ranks the rides based on how typical people enjoy them: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-...

There's lots of other tips on the site as well.

    Have fun!  Dave
