Tips for learning new songs (guitar)?

Is there anyway to learn a song faster than just reading the tab, playing the same riff until you've got it, then doing the next one and so on?

I love guitars, actually i never had proper guitar lessons but i think im okay with it, i gotta be honest i hate reading tabs, but i can play decent songs riffs and some solos quite well. this is my advise, just listen and play along with the radio, by doing this you will also develop your listening skills, dont just stick on one kind of genre, i prefer heavy music but i learned that by being open to other genres as well, if you love rock music, dont hesitate to listen to pop or country etc, being open makes you a good musician.

so yeah, bottomline is, be open to other music types, play along on the radio and have fun.
