  1. yes pace yourself get plenty of rest a couple of days before your run eat alot of carbs, i would drink a case of beer on the weekend or pasta and dont drink any fluid before your run. when i was in the army i used to weigh myself down with my gear on and then took it off and ran another mile, learn to breathe its easy to run but its hard to breathe when running so learn the best breathing method. goodluck

  2. Well there are 2 ways you could go about it.

    1. If you are a quicker person you may be able to kinda hang back for the first 3 laps then lay it on the competition the last lap.

    2. If you are more of an endurance person then push the pace hard to break everyone of their kicks and then the last lap or so push even harder through the end. this is what I use.

Now problems with the first strategy is that someone could use the second one against it and then you would not have a kick or they might be to far ahead to catch up.

The second strategy could backfire if you push a little too hard, or if you really don't have a high pain tolerance. Because this way you will feel uncomfortable. But I've done really well with a 9:53 PR in the 3200 and a 4:42 1600.

Good Luck and hope this helps^_^

  3. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!  keep your eye focused on the head of the person in front of you and your mind will lock into their pace...also drink lots of water on race day as hydration can affect ten seconds of your time...load up on carbs the night beforeyour race and be sure to get out fast enough that yur not boxed in but slow enough that you kill yourself(both can severly influence your time...also imagine your race all week think about how its going to feel when and where you'll make your moves who your going to stick with etc. i know it sounds kinda cheesy but mentally it gets you ready. good luck and let me know how you do.

  4. ok i hold the record at my school for 5:00:91

what i did was i conditioned all year because i was in other sports that required me to condition but what really helped my was my mindset if you really wont it and you battle for it and you keep battling you will beat your time

  5. There ain't any tips for one week improvement.  Changing things this soon only makes it worse.
