Tips for songwriting?

im into writing little acoustic songs with a strong meaning but are not just straightforward about it--like its an underlying message...same idea with the way i like to write poetry...any ideas?? tips, ideas, etc. whatever you got for me to help me out would be greatly appreciated...

  1. listen to some dashboard confessional, it sounds like the kind of music you might be into, just make your songs from everyday things that are special to you or about little things of another person, you sound like you know what your doing so far, good luck


  2. These songs can be vapid. Make sure you have a strong chorus with a distinct change in the music as well.

  3. I think you should try to think first of the message you want to send. Secondly think of a situation that expresses this, and just write about it! Another thing that could help is reading other people's lyrics or asking other songwriters to help, there is a website community that helps with that try out www.songwritingfever.com   they also have trial versions of songwriting software if youre that stumped.
