Tips for stamina?

I'm in a 8 hour bike race and i want to know some tips to keep my stamina up.

  1. It all starts with training and nutrition.   Eat plenty of complex carbs the 2 days before this ride(I prefer linguine).  This packs your muscles with the good stuff you need.  Oat meal, bluebery waffles, or cream cheese/bagel the morning of the race.   Powerbars or similar during the race as well as a lot of water and mix in some Gatorade type stuff.    For long rides, you need to stay smoooothe.  Steady effort as opposed to boom & bust.   Keep your face relaxed as well as your upper body as most people tense up which robs your efficiency.


  2. whew. 8 hours, long time. well dont go all out until the last half-mile or less if you can. always be with at least 10 people so you can share the work load and you can get alot of good drafting time.   other than that pedal at a light resistance just enough to where your spinning but still keeping up
