  1. Look for your friends that you've known from elementary school. you can start by hanging out with them...then as time goes by, you'll begin to talk to other people in your class that you've never met and soon, you'll have many friends. I'm actually in middle school right now! When i first started, i hung out with my old friends...since i was shy, it took me awhile to meet new people but anyways, i still ended up making good friends. Don't make a bad first impression of yourself to the teachers by the way. Look on the bright side, you'll have lockers and you won't be stuck in one classroom for the whole day! Good Luck in middle school!!!! Hope you have fun...sometimes, the teachers can be real funny and all but others are booooring and bleh...lol! =)

  2. EDIT

How funny!  I did think you were wanting to OPEN a new school.  The other answers are really good.  At least maybe we all got a good laugh.  Sometimes I take things too literally.

You need to be more specific to get a good answer.

    Ask again and include:

Public, private, church based, or charter

    grade level(s)

    your credentials

    business plan

Start with your local chamber of commerce or university (there is usually someone who can help with small business start-ups, and even provide you with mentorship).

    Good luck!

  3. are you starting middle or high ?

lmao!!! im sorry that person thought you were STARTING a school,

    umm ok

Make sure you go to all the student orientation days. It is very important because it will tell you your classes and you can discover which is one of the most important differences. In middle school you change classes, depending on your school you may have more classes per day, or have a different schedule every other day. Some people will be dealing with more people than others, so that means that you should be friendly (open). Do not have ONE group that you hang out with, if you can manage it, but have several. Remember that you should never be a clique.

Pick a locker that suits your needs (if your schools allows you to pick them). If you are shorter than some other kids, it would help to pick a bottom locker so that you can reach your locker. If you are tall, pick a top locker so that you don't have to bend over to get to your locker. Make sure that your locker is cool, clean, and correct to the school decorating rules.

Feel confident and be friendly on the first day of school. Smile at people and be open! Make sure before lunch you make some new friends. In class - well, it might be better if you're waiting outside class so your teachers don't get mad - talk to your fellow students! Look at their schedules see if you have any more classes with them, so you can have someone to walk with.

Make sure you arrive to class ON TIME. Teachers aren't very happy when you're late, but they might cut you some slack the first week. Always keep a map and your schedule with you!

Stay on Top of Homework. Now that you're in middle school you will have way more homework, and you will not have teachers help you as much in getting it done on time. Try not to get behind, stay organized. Keep a planner so that you'll remember homework assignments. Some schools will sell, or even give you one, others you have to get your own. Also if you don't have the same classes every day, do your homework the day you get it, don't wait until it's almost due. Participation is the most important part of school, after all.

Avoid pressure to date. In middle school, the social scene for romance gets more visible. But don't feel pressured into having a boyfriend or girlfriend until you're ready. Girls often mature eariler than boys at this age, so there's often a real gap between girls and boys developmentally.

Be Yourself. And have fun, those 2 or 3 years will fly by and next thing you know you'll be reading a how to on how to survive high school!

Treat everyone as you would like to be treated. It may be cliche, but that's due to its truth. Everyone wants to be important, liked and respected, so make them feel that way! Remember, there are some people who are bound to dislike you. From them you can learn what you're doing wrong, and cultivate yourself. Other than that, however, don't mind them! You're self-esteem should never be built on other people's opinions, because no matter how you act, someone always dislikes you.

Place a premium not on looks, but on personality. Believe it or not, after a while, how attractive or unattractive you are begins to fade after people get to know you. Popular people are often facilitated by good looks, but it's their ability to make people feel comfortable and liked that really puts them on top. Smile, be respectful and kind. Be witty if you're witty, and artsy if you're artsy. Find people with similar interests, and above all, don't try to bend yourself to the will of others.

Do not try to "nice" people into liking you. Rather, be genuinely caring. If it's not sincere, people will notice eventually, and they'll hate you for it. This, above all, is where most of the nasty games of middle school find their roots.

Welcome to Puberty. Middle school is the time of life where many children start becoming young adults. (Although you may have already hit this age, or will reach it in high school). You'll have a lot of changes to look forward to.

Don't take Middle School so seriously. Although it's a big step from the elementary grades to the middle school level, it's just one change out of many.

Forget What You See on TV or the Media. Middle school is only vaguely what you see on TV, movies, or the like. These are often played by actors much older than middle-school years, and with a writing staff. Your reality will likely be less glamorous, more complicated, but definitely more real.

TipsIf you have block scheduling, make sure that you have the right homework on the right days. Bringing your science book to math class won't make your teachers happy, and your back and shoulders won't thank you if you stuff everything you think that you need into your backpack and you only use half of it.

If you're not invited to a MAJOR party that every other person is invited to you most likely are going to feel sad or mad. DO NOT BEG FOR AN INVITATION.You will put yourself in a position that makes you seem like you are a loser with no life. Just accept it and move on. If people ask how you are dealing or feeling just say 'It's fine. If she doesn't want me to come, it's her loss.' And move on in your life. Do not suck up to the person who is having a party. You will put yourself in a position to be nice to that person forever unless you want to look like a loser looking for an invite. It's especially useless if the host is a person you really don't like.

If you are good at a sport and you are confused on why you didn't make the team, talk to the coach. Then work on what your mistake was. You can always try out again next year.

If you are having trouble in a certain subject talk to your teacher about having a small tutoring sesion so that the homework will be easier. Or seek outside of school tutors. It will be very helpful.

To stay out of trouble, you have to get active by getting into some clubs and sports, the more you stay in sports and activities the more trouble you will stay out of it. you will love the sports and clubs that you are in and you won't have time to get in trouble. Believe in yourself and stick with it.

Don't take yourself too seriously! If you fall down the stairs on the first day, just get back up and laugh about it. It takes courage to admit you're not perfect in public but people will notice your confidence and like you more.

Don't commit social suicide! If you see someone breaking a rule but not putting anyone else in danger, don't run and tell a teacher. If they're smoking pot outside the school, don't tell unless asked. On the other hand, if they're beating someone up or starting fires in the bathroom, then you may want to consider saying something.

WarningsSome eighth graders and ninth graders will be nice, others not as... So, if you're asking for directions and have no choice but to ask an upperclassmen, pick out a friendly looking one, and try not to interrupt them while in the middle of a conversation.

If your school lets you choose locker partners pick someone you know that you will be able to get along with the WHOLE year. It's not fun to be fighting with your locker buddy.

    ..

1- Before you buy your school supplies, make sure you have the school supplies list FROM YOUR SCHOOL don't look it up on Google or anything. Those lists may not have everything you need (if you absolutely can't track down your middle schools supply list, use one on Google and buy the rest after the first day of school).

2- Always buy your school supplies early. It will give you a chance to get the nicer brands before they run out. Also, it will be a comfort knowing you have it ready.

3- Buy a good durable backpack that can hold lots of weight. You don't want it to rip at school (trust me, you don't.) Also, make sure it has at least 2 big compartments, and a few smaller ones. (Tip: At the beginning of the 2007/2008 school year, almost everyone had a Jansport backpack. Half a school year later (second semester) there was not a single person with a Jansport backpack. Some people use large, oversize totes from Abercrombie and Fitch or Hollister. Another cool backpack is a messenger bag from Kipling, and then you can put little buttons or keychains on it if you want to decorate it. Don't go too crazy though. If you don't like a button or keychain anymore you can always take it off.)

4- NEVER EVER EVER EVER get a backpack with a cartoon character or TV show on it. Ever. (Such as High School Musical or Spongebob or Hannah Montana or even Camp Rock.) If you really want a Jonas Brothers backpack, get some buttons and put them on your backpack like said in step 3 above.

5- If you are worried about opening your locker or forgetting your locker combo, buy a cheap one from the dollar store to practice on for a few nights. Once you get your locker combo you can enter it as a contact on your cell phone (if you have one) but remember DON'T CALL IT "LOCKER #"!!! Make up a name for it. (Not all schools have lockers. Most don't.)

6- If your school supplies list names specific brands, you don't need to bu y those brands, they are just recommending them. You should buy funky colored supplies or things that suit you that not everyone will have.

7- Shop for clothes at stores such as Hollister Company, Abercrombie and Fitch, and American Eagle Outfitters. In most middle schools, including mine, they wear those brands all over the United States, regardless of where you live. In a few schools, such as my friend's old school, they wear brands such as G-unit or something like that.
