  1. just practise starting / taking off thats the thing that i had trouble with and yeah try and remember all the gears ,, just learn the clutch .....

  2. I'm 16 and I practice once is a while for my license next year so we're on the same page. Here are some basic rules incase you dont know them.

-Always start the car in manual (check if its in manual if the gearstick moves right and left)

    -Practice in open roads

-Driving a manual is easy and fun, the only hard part to start off is going from neutral to first gear

-Think C-B-A if you forget the foot peddals for Clutch, Brake, and Accelerator

-Don't immedly release the clutch from neutral to first, start off slow

    Hope all this helps :)

  3. Start out slow, know the shift pattern so you are not looking at the k**b or sticker every time. Also try not to ride the clutch with your foot. Start driving in a empty parking lot down straight lanes and then turning and backing, then parking and then move to the harder things.

  4. The most important thing is not to learn on the street.  It's no place for that.

Take it to a big empty parking lot, and stay there until you can accelerate from a stop /flawlessly/ and shift as much as possible in the parking lot (probably up through 2nd or 3rd gear).

Stay there all day if you need to.  Get comfortable.  The street is not a place where you should be looking at the clutch pedal.
