  1. I actually played volleyball for a while so when u go for tryouts try to not bump the ball very high u kinda want to have it able to pass to other people, it will probably hurt her hands and arms for a while, but u will get used to it.

  2. Be LOUD.

    Be AGGRESSIVE.

    Be CHEERFUL, to your teamates.

    and do your best.

Reallyy really try to do your best,

because if you don't make it,

at least you'll know you did your best.

  3. Practice your bumping skills and work on your accuracy. Try bumping the ball on a set spot of a wall. Practice digging and overhand serving. But above all else, when you're at tryouts have a great attitude and a willingness to take constructive criticism. Coaches love that. Even if you aren't the best player on the team, coaches remember girls who had excellent attitudes as good members of a team even if they didn't get much playing time over ones that might be better players but have lousy attitudes.

  4. ohmigod u ask the same questions!!!! this is like the fifth time you asked about this!!!!

  5. Tips for tryouts -

Make sure you have your basics down - most importantly passing (bumping) and serving.

Be willing to play/try out for any position - a coach likes versatility.

Energy - in my opinion, volleyball is a game that relies heavily on momentum - the spirit and energy level needs to be up there so if your loud and positive on the court - the coaches will love it.

    Basic Drills -

    Pepper

You can do this one all day - 2 people stand about 10-20ft away from each other and just lighty bump set spike a ball back and forth, keep it light and remember to work on your mechanics. A 3rd person can also act as the setter.

    Serving

Get a friend to stand on the other side of the net and serve the ball back and forth, but aim for the 6 diffrent areas of the court.

    Spiking

to work on spiking - it is good to practice your approach/jump without the ball because timing is everything. Arm mechanics are also important so a good drill is to face a wall and spike the ball into the floor - let it bounce of the wall, and back to you. Keep your arm straight and snap your wrist when you hit the ball.

    Footwork

When passing (bumping) the most important thing is to stay low and on your toes, so do exacty that... hands up and out, knees bent and be on the balls of your feet... try moving around in this position left right back foward untill it becomes second nature.

There are obviously many more drills and these all need to be done with the proper mechanics.

  6. jumping high always impresses coaches... because that means you could be a great blocker! but of course, work on your overall game... bumping passing setting serving = CONSISTENCY.

    best of luck!

  7. HUSTLE ...coaches love ppl who hustle

also dont talk when they are talking and dont s***w around with your friends.

give it your best...and always push yourself to the limits

  8. Don't be nervous, bring a big bottle of water, make sure you're at least a little practiced before you go in, and have fun!!

    good luck :]
