  1. A couple tips, low flow shower head, you may have to try a few to get one that actually feels like you are getting wet. Shampoo/conditioner combo, one less rinse. Navy shower, if done right you will only use 5 gallons. Start the shower, get wet, turn off the water, shampoo and lather, turn on water, rinse off, turn off water. Don't shave in the shower, face or legs.

    Another waste of water is waiting for the hot water, there are things you can attach to your plumbing that will recirulate the water so it's hot when you turn it on. I use the shower closest to the water heater or brush my teeth with the hot water turned on so it is on it's way to the shower. You can also capture the water and use it for other things in the house.

  2. shower with a friend??

  3. at home depot, they have a 1.6 gpm (gallon per minute) shower head for 12.99 or what i did was i went to http://www.energyfederation.org/consumer...

    i bought 2 of those and the total about 18 bucks including shipping

  4. Shower with a friend? Tried it. "Your a good friend", he says, "I like huntin' with you. I like watching wrastlin' and football on TV with you. I like bowling with you, and I even like helpin' you with honeydew projects on the weekends. But, Bubba", he says, "Please don't ask me to take another shower with you."

  5. Combat showers! No really, I'm in the military and happen to also be in Q-West, Iraq right now.  I'm also female with long hair so I know this will work for you.  Use no more than 3 minutes of running water.  You can start by running water to get wet for 1 minute.  Turn the water off then lather up from head to toe.  Use the last 2 minutes to rinse off.  It's easy to do and decreases water consumption emmensely. Also, if you need a conditioner for your hair, use a leave in.

  6. You can buy a low-flow shower-head, there are some really good ones.  I bought one and it really forces the water out (at least if feels that way)  and you can rinse really fast.  If you don't want to buy a low-flow shower-head you can have  what is called a navy shower.  You turn the water on and get wet, then you turn the water off and soap up and wash your hair and then you turn the water on to rinse.  It saves a lot of water having a shower that way.

  7. no shower. a bucket of water and a cup. old school "shower"

  8. what i do, is;

    after i shampoo and rinse it out , i turn the water flow to like, 1/3 for the rest of my shower until i rinse out the conditioner.

  9. You could try to like, while you condition, do something else. Just do everything as fast as possible. If you could, shower with another person. Close the water while you shampoo and arent actually using the water, even if it is only for a second. Good for you for caring about the environment and trying to conserve water. Remember, in order to help the human race survive, the environment has to be there! LOL!!!!! Just do the best you can! A little goes a long way!

    Hope that helped!!! :D
