  1. First off never thinki your going to walk on because when you think that and you go out and begin to tryout to be blunt you suck. Try hard, Practice hard, and Work hard and you'll be rewarded. I have seen many poeple think their going to be walk ons and then end up being cut because they did not work ahrd enough. I predict this won't be you bacuse you say your going to train hard. Expect a normal tryout good coaches normally start out weith basics and move fast to more complex things.

    Good Luck

  2. I had one at Universite du Quebec a Trois Rivieres (between Montreal + Quebec City) ten years ago. Play as well as you can, don't engage in small talk with the others unless they initiate it, be yourself if the coaches ask you about stuff. Show enthusiasm for the game, but don't let your emotions get the better of you. First day or two it will probably just be those walk-on players. At the end of the week you'll see more and more of the returning players from the previous season.

  3. Good luck at the tryouts!

My only tip is don't fall down.

  4. Work hard at the tryout and make sure you skate hard in every drill.  Don't compare yourself with the other players around you. Don't try to be a superstar, limit your mistakes.  Coaches look for hard workers and players that can play at both ends of the ice.

    Good Luck!

  5. Ahh well first of all, welcome to Maine, as I too go to a college in Vacationland.  I really don't know how it works for walk-ons but if it's anything like men's walk-on tryouts, the coach will not give you much recognition until you have proven yourself.  Just go out there and work as hard as you can, giving it everything you have.  If you make the team, do you play Harvard at all? I know a girl that is a backup goalie there as a sophomore this season, hoping to get more time.

Good luck and enjoy your stay in Maine.

  6. First off go all out all the time. 110% is right. Wear something that sets you apart from the crowd it will bring there eye to you even when they don't mean too. Bright stick tape,Orange helmet, green laces, #69 something that sets you apart from the crowd....You get the idea!!!! I used to where black from head to toe as a goalie for tryouts. And if it is a few day tryout be consistant with it too.

Also make it a point to not over-party this summer remember to stay active and keep up on your cardio.

  7. Walk-on's are very low on the scale. Not many people are watching you which is why you need to make plays. Give it 110% all the time, show what skills you have, and be a team player.
