Question:

Tips for wrist action?

I'm trying to improve my wrist action, but I find if I really think about what to do I slice the ball. If I have 'stiffer' wrists i hit the ball straight but not as far... any tips? PS I have taken lessons with a pro but don't want to go for more lessons, I want to just practise on my own for a while.

  1. You should c**k your wrists until the shaft is parallel to the ground with the toe of the club up(pointing to the sky) your shoulders and hips should follow through and after impact you want your arms, wrists, and shoulders pointing to the target and your hips tilting and starting to turn. You also want the wrists uncocked at after impact. Then follow through.

  2. If you have a proper grip, take away and good downswing move you shouldn't have to think about "wrist action" during the swing.  Your wrists should c**k about half way back in your backswing, and they should uncock at the latest possible moment before impact with the ball to generate good "lag" and clubhead speed.  Trust me you don't have time to think about doing it - it has to happen naturally on the way down into the ball.  Just finish high and let it fly, your wrists will take care of themselves.

  3. well thats my problem too

just stay wristless coming back and dont c**k it too much
