The cat is indoor, not fixed as of yet, and I'm just wondering what can I do to introduce him to his new house with a different owner being me :) He's very friendly as it is so what should I do to make him comfortable ? :)

  1. Like the other answer suggested...put him in a "safe room" that is fairly small, closed, darkish, with everything that he needs in it (food, bed, litter, toys).  Give him a day or three to get used to that place, and then slowly open up the rest of the house to let him explore.

You may also want to do just a little bit of bottle feeding so that you can serve as a surrogate mother which will help the bonding process a bit.

  2. Try to keep a close eye on your cat for the first few days. Decide on a room (with a good bit of privacy) for your cat's litter box, food and water. (I use the laundry room for my cat. It's quite and away from a lot of activity and loud noises.) Once your cat gets used to where the litter box, food and water is, you should feel free to let him wander around the house without having to watch after him so closely.  Just show him lots of love and attention and he should be comfortable.

Good luck with your new cat!
