  1. A dvd called The Book www.thebookdvd.com. Great tutorial from beginner to advanced. For sure put her on a wakeboard especially if she has good balance. She probably does'nt weight to much (sorry if she does) but an easy way to help her w/o a boat (and you dont need a wakeboard boat) is have her swim out about 100ft and slip into the bindings (shes gotta learn sometime). Throw her the rope and you and your husband, boyfriend, whatever pull the rope in or run with it and pull her up. This gets rid of the intimidating boat factor and allows her to get the feel. Hope I helped and good luck. Wake or Die

  2. I'm thirteen, and i am also currently teaching myself how to wakeboad. Here's a great liink.

  3. investing in a wakeboard and water skis is a great idea. i never knee-boarded before i tried wakeboarding, i did water ski though, which defitnely helped. if you want to get her prepped for wakeboarding defitnley get her skiing first. skiing going to teach her how to turn and go in and out of the wake, which will prep her HUGLEY  for wakeboarding.

when she gets a board, use this chart to determine the size of the board she will get:

    Up to 85 lbs 119cm

    Up to 105 lbs 121cm

    Up to 130 lbs 130 - 131cm

    Up to 160 lbs 132 - 133cm

    Up to 180 lbs 134 - 135cm

    Up to 200 lbs 136 - 139cm

    200 lbs & Up 140cm & Up

    hope this helps!!!

  4. invest in a lesson by a professional that has equipment to use. It will save a lot of time and hassle. she may not enjoy the sport then you haven't wasted cash on a board. also one bad fall and she may not want to do it anymore. you know how the frustration level of an 8 year old can be. My kids (now 12) have been tubing and kneeboarding for years. we got them a board and they learned quickly. they don't really like it. they would rather knee board. oh, by the way I have a board for sell.
