Question:

Tips on an adult (but maybe not grown up) Disney Party?

by  |  earlier

My wife's 30th birthday is comming up and I wanted to take her to Disney World (she's never been and always wanted to go). The problem is we really can't afford the time or plane trip.

So, I was going to have a surprise Disney party in our backyard. I thought we could bbq, have everyone come as their favorite Disney character, dress my wife up like Belle (her favorite), etc. What I'm looking for are suggestions for the etc. Any ideas of what we could do, eat, decorate, or anything else?

Thanks to everyone who answers.

  1. That is probably the sweetest thing I've ever heard. The link below will take you to a site that has great Disney costumes for adults.

Also ,you could use a Disney wedding party planner.I realize a lot of the stuff will be too weddingish, but it may give you ideas on how to put a Disney twist on things for your party.

You could also buy the Disney version of games like Scene It to play, and you can hide secret mickeys all over like they do at disney world ,then let her or all the guests try to find them all.In case you don't know what secret mickeys are...

  2. have an elagent but fun theme

  3. This is cool. If you can rent a projector and when it gets dusk put a blanket on the side of your house and project a disney movie.  There is always Disney Scene it which is a fun game.

  4. Well i dont think people who come should dress up like that... but thats my opinion. You should make cupcakes of disney characters heads on them or places in disney. Its a fun idea that also tastes great

  5. okay, just because i think this is the coolest idea ever i will give you some of my best ideas... i usually don't share these.

You can make chocolate cover marshmallow "wands". just melt chocolate and dip a stick with about four or five marshmallows on them and use white chocolate to decorate (again, melt the white chocolate and you can use a bag, cut of the tip of one corner and just add lines or patterns to them.

make sugar cookies in the shape of different disney characters. just use frosting to draw on the faces. if she is a princes you can just make flowers, horses, carriages, etc.

give all the items disney themed names. "Princess' favorite punch, etc.

go to a party supply store and get all things disney.

last, disney had put out a couple of great cookbooks, party guides. look for them at your local bookstore or library and see if you can get any more idea for decorations or maybe food items. good luck. let me know how it works out.

  6. That is so sweet and that sounds so fun! Get a Disney cake of course, if she likes bell maybe do that theme for it, you could get paper plates with Disney characters on it. If you're going to be outside this may not work but they do make scene setters for the walls that look like a palace if people are going to be in the house you could use some of those. You could get Disney character shaped candles for the cake/cupcakes. Not sure if you are going to be having alcohol there but if you supply soda as well, people could use Disney crazy straws. Just a few things I could think of off the top of my head.

  7. this is for kids but it sound like the aldults will have a fun time playing this!

You can gather the whole gang together to play these Disney Gang party games at your child’s next big party.

The first game I suggest for your Disney themed party is called, ‘Mickey’. You’ll need one dice and a piece of paper and a crayon, marker, pencil to give to each of the players. The point of this game is to be the first to complete a simple drawing of Mickey Mouse. The dice is used to keep track of what each player can draw next.

Have the kids take turns rolling the die. They have to draw the part of Mickey that corresponds with the number that comes up. If they’ve already drawn that part then they must skip their turn and someone else takes a turn. Here’s a list of what parts correspond with numbers on the die.

    1. Roll a one and draw the circle for the face. 2. Roll a two and draw both of his ears. 3. Roll a three and draw his muzzle. 4. Roll a four and draw two eyes. 5. Roll a five and draw his nose. 6. Roll a six and make his mouth.

Then winner is the first one to draw all the parts of Mickey’s face. You may want to have a print out of Mickey Mouse for the kids to use as reference when drawing.

The second game called, ‘Name Echo’ is just a fun pre-party game you can use to help the kids get to know each other. Have everyone gets into a circle. Then start the game by calling out your name followed by a Disney Gang characters name and raising your arms in a wave. The person next to you will also call out your name with the Disney Gang character's name and raise their arms in an echo of you. This continues all the way around the circle until it reaches you and you raise your arms calling your name again. The person next to you will call out their name and raise their arms causing the same echo effect to go all the way around the circle. This is repeated until everyone in the circle has had a chance to call out their name.

  8. Hire some mickey mouse costume guy and tell him to chase kids around and to have a good time.

  9. Order up some sushi and say "Hey! I found Nemo!"

  10. You can make a nice disney cake. just make a butter cake recipe, triple it and put it in a big square or rectangle tin. bake until golden, cut off the top so it is flat and ice it. then with a icing bag, write happy 30th (insert name here) with disney text. google it in google and copy it. then ice mickey mouse or something on there.

  11. you actually might want to check on ebay for a disney package, alot of people buy them and then can't go!

that's how we went last year - 1/2 price!
