I am 16 and babysitting a 4 year old girl ( Arwin ) and a 5 year old boy ( Quinn ) I guess im one of the people who every little kid LOVES. There mother is a good friend of the family and asked me if i'd like to baby sit mon-friday. I have baby sat them twice and have been around before just visting. Quinn is pretty easy because he like video games and tv ( Go figure ) But Arwin is the one who cant make up her mind on what she wants to do. She will want to go outside then once we get out there she wants to go in and so on. I realize they are little kids ( I have young siblings ) But I need ideas on keeping them busy.

Also Arwin doesnt like to go to the bathroom.. Tips on helping her not mess her pants?

Oh and srry I didnt know what to put this under.. so I left it as what the suggested

  1. i have had to deal with two kids girl adn boy about the same age before, usually i would turn on the computer and tv and video games and allow the boy to keep himself busy then i would have the little girl show me her dolls and barbies or fave toys...then we would do a simple craft that i would bring, or color in coloring books (princess books work best) and then i would let them have a snack or something, later i would pop in one of their favorite movies to watch pop in some popcorn if they are allowed to have it and if they like it, then i would heave them eat dinner (whatever the parents told u to feed them)then we would play another game... then i would have them go to the bathroom and brush their teeth. for the girl i would have her go and reward her with her fave treat or snack for her bedtime snack and the boy could have wat he wanted too then i would put them in their beds and tuck them in for the night! for the girl if the bathroom thing still doesnt work dont be afraid and ask the parents wat to do with her!!

sorry if this was too much for wat u needed i kind of told wat to do for mostly a whole entire day!

hope this helps good luck and have funn! ~volley lover

  2. arts and crafts never hurts. And try maybe, every time she uses the potty, she gets a sticker, and make a sticker chart. Once she gets 5 or 10 stickers, she gets a treat.

  3. Talk to Arwin about what she likes and dislikes. Talk about princesses, actresses.. you know girly stuff. If you're good at story-telling, I suggest you start with fairy-tale stories. Or get her into comics and picture books. Drawing and colouring can help too. Tell her mother to buy some of these books. You can even take fairy-tale books from your own home and read from it.

    Best of luck!! :)

  4. four and five years of age is a great age still into "little kid games" here are some of my suggestions:

    inside/rainy days:

    dress-up

    board games (monopoly)

    Card games (go fish)

Freeze dance (kid friendly music (wiggles))

    Coloring

    ect....

    Bath time:

If you need to give them a bath heres a handy way to do it!

Put a rubber ducky into the bath tub fill with bubbles and put goggles on child. Allow them to play while you bathe them. Dry with towel and give hard candy. Allow 10-15 minutes in bathtub before drying and allowing next child into the tub. *Supervision required

    Outdoors:

    Kickball

    Racing (running)

Scavenger hunt (place buckets ect in special areas and find them)

    Bouncing (trampoline required)

    Warm day:

    Sprinkler (sprinkler required)

    Spray with hose

    Car wash

    Pool (pool required)

    Nap time:

    Watch clouds (nap time)

Tent stories (tent required nap time)

    Food:

Breakfast: Ceral, Oj , gronal bar.

Lunch: Cheese Crackers, PBJ (or fluff) milk.

Dinner: (should be supplied by parent)

    Fun game idea:

    Triva questions

Buy a 20 questions card game witch has questions when either  of them awsners correctly a peice of candy is rewarded.

    Arwins poopy mess:

Tell her everytime she goes "to the bathroom" not "in her pants" she gets a peice of (hard) candy.

  5. Make up a game ...or play dress up ( the boy can be superman or something ) you can make stuff like arts and crafts ( don't do messy arts and crafts though ) just something creative . Or you can make a tent out or sheats . And tell not scary ..scary storyies ...and pretend your scared ...they will laugh to see that a big kid is scared ..and they will end up loving you .  This is what I do when I watch kids ....( ages 1 -10 )  so if they help me to keep the kids from jumping off the walls or braking lamps it should help you ! Good luck !
