  1. I was a pretty c**p baseball player until I got to high school (even now I wouldn't say I'm very good). It seems around that time I developed a lot more muscle and coordination, but the skills and practice I had kicked in retrospectively. Here are a few tips.

    1. Don't be afraid of the ball. It's always better if it hits you than if it rolls past you. It probably won't kill you.

    2. When batting remember 3 things: Shift your weight with your legs, twist and rotate with your abs/torso, and keep your eye on the ball. Your arms will know what to do.

    3. Have fun.

  2. like someone before me said, there is no secret formula. Baseball is a lot different than other sports like basketball where in earlier stages and even in high school you can get away with just being tall or football where you can get by with just being strong. Practice is really the only way. Strength training would help but you have to work on the basics first. Long toss to increase your arm strength, batting practice (lots of it), and just playing. Just go out there and be around baseball. Wiffleball, having a catch, watching baseball. Anything you can.

  3. Weight Lifting first and foremost to get you muscular it helps your arm to throw longer more often and farther and batting to hit more often harder and farther as far as fielding have your dad/coach/anyone hit you ground balls and pop ups..... for batting BUNT BUNT BUNT that helps keep your eye on the ball and it also helps you hit the ball on the sweet spot which makes it go farther and feel better.... If you pitch there are heavy balls you could use from 9-13 oz's throw just like a regular baseball only without throwing any junk take it serouis you could really s***w your self up doing that... hope this helped and GOOD LUCK!

  4. Practice is key, keep doing so.  I may have some tips for you to be a better player...

To agree with another, speed is very important.  It really makes you stand out.  People notice speed, the game can change because of speed, so work on getting faster. Practice the 40 yd dash and the 60 yd dash constantly.  This will be one of the first questions college and pro scouts will ask.

Batting-Power is not always the key!  HIt for average!!  Hitting for average is a practiced skill and not luck.  The long ball will come when you are swinging correctly and when you swing at good pitches. A couple of good ways to practice would be number one getting a high quality hitting tee.  A hitting tee ( a tool which most reserve for the little kids) is the best most affordable swing training tool available.  Yes it does help with hand eye coordination and seeing the ball at various spots in the strike zone, but the tee allows you train yourself to swing properly.  When hitting off the tee each swing should be an exact copy of the one before it.  It helps you train your brain and muscles on how to approach pitches in different areas of the strike zone.  You will train yourself on what swing gives you the most contact and the hardest contact.  I would try to avoid batting cages with automatic machines unless it's impossible.  I'd rather have someone pitching to me, and if you have to use it, remember to only use if for timing.  Your stance should be comfortable and relaxed and remember don't overstride.  Pick up the front foot lightly, put it back down and "throw" your hips."

Fielding-Just work on that constantly.  If your and infielder do a lot of drills with no glove or ball.  Practice moving side to side, and front to back, while staying low.  When using a ball and glove pay attention to the speed, course, and how many times the ball hops (if it does).  Always go get the ball, unless it's hit sharply.  Understand what it takes for you to field a ball, set your feet and make a good throw.

If playing the outfield, practice turning and running like a wide reciever would in football. Work on running in on a baseball, under control and wary of other fielders. Pay attention to footwork and know your range ( know how far you can run and make a catch).  Always assume the ball is coming to you on the next pitch.

Of course there are many things you can do.  But what most scouts want to see is the 4.4 forty yd. dash and that .400 batting average.  So buy a runner's parachute, break out the tee and good luck

  5. just try your best and always HUSTLE and your coach will appreciate it.

  6. Speed goes a long way, you can make many teams if you have less than stellar batting but you have great speed. Don't try to hit homeruns, concentrate on line drives. Work on your plate vision, don't swing at c**p, be selective. Theres no magic formula to get better, just practice, practice, practice. try placing two tees in front of each other the furthest away being set lower than the closest one and put a ball on both and try to hit the first ball on a line without knocking the second ball off. Also stand close to a wall just far enough away so that the bat barely misses the wall when you swing properly. It will keep you focused on that style of swin and not reaching for balls that are out of the zone.
