I am nervous as anything about being captain of my cross-country team. I love running with all my heart and soul, but I am not the fastest girl on the team, I think I was voted on because I'm nice to everybody. However, I'm still nervous.

Any tips on being captain?

Activities that can bring us together?

Anything would be helpful at all thank you all so much. Wish me luck! Yikes!

  1. Just lead by example, xc isn't really a vocal sport so just make sure when you train you are giving it 100%. Your team mates will notice.

  2. Well, you don't have to be the fastest girl on the team, if you honestly love running and try hard in practice people see that and respond. If you want to help bring the team together, get together at someones house and just hang out. My team usually makes matching shirts for the season.

  3. Being A Captain Means You Must Be The One To Work The Hardest. You Must Motivate Your Teamates And Push Them Hard. In Cross Country I Suggest You Try To Help Out Your Teamates By Showing Them What Their Weakest At And Help Them Improve Like Endurance, Respiration, Speed, And Control. Hope You Do Well

  4. just support the other girls and work hard in practice.  lead when stretching and warming up.  have pasta parties the night before meets to bring the team together.
