Question:

Tips on falling asleep?

OK, tomorrow I have a really big event ahead of me. For the last two nights it has taken me hours to sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about it. I need at least eight hours of sleep to face the day but I just know I won't be able to sleep. Does anyone know anything that could help me fall asleep quickly.

No drugs, please.

Thanks.

  1. Usually writing songs or reading something works just fine with me.

  2. i know exactly how you feel. If i am not prepared for a big day i just cant fall asleep. Be it an exam when i was a student or a deadline now. And worst of all, you'll love doing things you don't normally do, forget playing on a Wii, i would finish off a whole novel throughout the night. I am 27 and believe me it never gets better.

So if you want to escape the jitters then from next time onwards be prepared for your big day and you'll sleep like a baby or else if you are an adult, Take 2 large quick pegs :-). It helps me sleep but i have a really hard time waking up.. :-D

If you are not my type and i suggest you get really tired, take an hour off from the Wii and do some vigorous exercise a couple of hours before sleep. It has worked for me....

  3. Try getting doing as much physical activity today as you can either through gym or play. Keep your day busy and active and when it's close to bedtime, have a big meal and grab the most boring book you can find and force yourself to read.

Insomnia is a tough nut to crack and most doctors will tell you that fighting it is fruitless. Home remedies like warm milk or turkey simply don't work. Throughout the day try to avoid sugary snacks, soft drinks, and tea.

  4. i fall asleep listening to relaxing music

  5. melatonin tabs that dissolve under your tongue, you can get them at GNC. They are natural, your body reduces the amount or melatonin as you get older and makes it harder to fall asleep. They are around $5

  6. I find when I just lay down with the intention to relax,  I always fall asleep. When I try to sleep, I cant.

Sometimes I pretend I'm an actor in a movie playing a dead guy, that seems to help relax all your muscles-in your face especially

    then you fall asleep easier
