  1. 1) Look for connections between subjects, between your life and what's being presented, etc. The more you think about it, the more you'll find connections, the more you'll remember it. Don't just get through the work--really think about it, learn it.

    2) Once a week, take the time to write up summarized notes for what you've done so far--not just for the week, but for everything. We tend to remember best what we've just done, so if you keep remembering what you did first, it'll mean doing better on things like tests. It'll especially mean spending less time studying.

    3) Pinpoint specific areas that hold you back from doing better. For example, if on essays, you're getting marks docked because of spelling or capitalization, take some extra time to improve those areas--at the very least, keep a notebook to write in the correct information and any applicable rules.

    4) Spend at least an hour outside school time each day reading. Read anything you like, although reading something challenging now and then would be really good. The more you read, the higher your reading comprehension, writing skills and general verbal abilities. This helps improve your skills and knowledge in all areas--if you read better, you understand better things you read in other courses, for example.

    5) Consider finding books at the library on tips on how to really learn well and do well in school. What Smart Students Know is one that has impressed me a lot. I did by pure instinct much of what he recommends and did quite well in school.

  2. Listen to your teachers when they talk about how to do the assignment. If it's not clear, ask. Then do it the way they want.

It won't get you As, but if you're already doing well it might pull you up a bit. You have no idea how many people lose points (and sometimes fail outright) because they didn't follow the guidelines for an assignment.

  3. Be organized.

Review your material within 24 hours of learning the new information.

Study over several days for test and exams.

Begin projects and papers as soon as they are assigned - don't procrastinate.

  4. 1. Keep organized. Designate certain areas for certain things. Keep your locker clean.

    2. Focus in class. Really pay attention to what your teacher says. Take notes. If the teacher repeats information, it may be on a test. Keep all distractions away.

    3. Study. Cramming the night before won't help much, make a schedule for when you are going to study.

  5. My best advice is do your home work good because lots of little things can add up, be organized because it makes it easier, and dont do things last minute especially essays and projects. Finally a big tip is start trying your hardest in the beginning of a semester. I try to get all a's but in the beginning i dont think it matters that much then in the end no matter how hard i try i can t get an A.

P.S. Cramming actually does work sometimes.
