I am a sophomore in high school, my class rank was 24 freshman year, and I plan on being in the top ten by senior year, which will most likely happen.

To get into Stanford what do I need to do, SAT scores, GPA, AP classes, extracurricular, et cetera.

  1. You need to have excellent grades, excellent test scores, take as many AP classes as possible, have lots of extra curriculars, good references,

  2. You'll need some above average ACT/SAT scores...if your school offers it take the PSAT (Pre-SAT, it's just for prep but some colleges like it). Stanford is a pretty good college and depending on what you are going into, you would need to take classes that emphasize your future career...I.E. if you are going into Business Management than Parliamentary Procedure (if offered at your school) would be good to take/join (if club or class), Debate wouldn't be too bad either although that is more related to law but it gives a sense of leadership, NHS (National Honor Society) would be a strong boost for someone looking for a degree in Business. If you want to do something in Engineering than you would want to take classes like Mechanics and Metal Fabrication (Welding). If you want to take Liberal Arts than you would need more English classes and Art classes like painting, photography...and maybe Philosophy or Astrology if it is offered at your school.

Stanford would probably expect their students to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA throughout their entire high school career, but even that would barely be high enough for Stanford, to really secure a spot in such a good college you would want a GPA in the range of 3.8-4.0 (higher if your school allows GPAs above 4.0, lots of High Schools like mine won't let students achieve a GPA above 4.0)

Stanford is best known for their programs in Business Management, Engineering, and Liberal Arts...if you plan to go to this college I recommend you aim towards a degree in one of those three fields.
