Tips on how to give a good solo talk?

i am sitting my standard grade english exams in 3rd year (wich i am in just now) instead of fourth year and i was only told today and have been given a week to prepare a solo talk on anything i like this count as a third of my overall mark. i am quite shy and hope to get an A any advice on how to deliver a solo talk and what is a good subject to talk about.

  1. -Eye contact-give eye contact to gorup as often as possible-reading off cue cards will make you seem nervous and unprepared!

    -Choose a topic YOU have an interest in-this way you'll find it easier and more comfortable and will have more knowledge.

    -Have imagines or items to show people

    -Have quotes to back up any 'opinions' you have. Eg: Statistics from___say that __% of people think_________

    -Stand up, wear something you feel comfortable and confident in-nothing worse than feeling people are looking at your clothes, your hair etc!

    -Smile and say thank you at the end!
