  1. Try:

Turning your light out when you leave each room rather than leaving it on.

Try to walk instead of drive if you have to drive, drive slower.

Don't leave the T.V on standby

    Try to recycle anything possible

When you are done with sixpack cans of soda cut up the packaging so you don't kill birds

    Never leave the computer on

If you get cold in your house do not turn up the heating put more cloths on!

All these things DO make a difference!

  2. One way I find myself being environmentally friendly  is planting a rain garden and native flowers to my region.  Rain gardens are best in a low standing part of your yard where rainwater collects. Normally it is put on top of a sewer line. These plants are not only native but they help soak up the pollutants that fall from the sky during a rainstorm. Leaving cleaner water flowing down in to the drains and ultimately through your tap. They look beautiful and help nature as well, bringing birds and  butterflies during peak seasons.  Also, any garden that has native plants to your area is being helpful. So many good things come from a small act as planting a seed.  Good luck in all your endeavors, the earth is needing our help, no matter how great or small!

  3. Turn off the lights/computer/tv/radio..etc when your not using them.

    Carpool, bus, bike or walk.

    Recycle

Don't use plastic bags, get the reusable ones (most stores carry them now)

  6. GO TO NATURE

  7. Excellent begging! First of all, try to change all you light bulbs of your home for fluorescent light bulbs, try to buy shampoo, soap, that are biodegradable, try to classify  your garbage, like  plastics, paper, metals, glass, organic wastes ( left overs ), the cooking oils, don't throw it on the sink, put it on a little can, then put it in a close bag and throw it to the garbage, all the electronic devices that you don't use, unplug them, the cell phone charger, when you are not using it, unplug it too. Try to turn off the lights when you are not using them, with your car, see if all the tires are well inflated, because if they aren't the car is making double the effort and wasting double the gasoline. Don't use products like sprays that contain CFC, see is it says "CFC Free" o "Ozone friendly", when you buy a refrigerator, ask if it doesn't contain CFC. (CFC is a chemical that destroys the Ozone layer) I think that is all, good for you trying to save our planet. Good bye and Good Luck!

  8. Lots of great suggestions have been made. Further to the water bottle idea, I would suggest buying a SIGG bottle. All the members of my family have them and they are great! No leaching of any chemicals/phthalates so better for your health and the environment.

Definitely use the safer cleaning products...even Walmart carries a brand of ecologically-friendly cleaners these days so it doesn't really cost more.

Also, find lots of great ideas at www.thegreenguide.com...one of the best sites of it's kind around.

Also, eat organic when you can. It is better for your health, the environment, and also you are using your dollar to promote organics in general...an industry that is growing at astounding rates.

  9. Buy a low pressure shower head and low flush toilet

    Eat less meat

Turn off all lights when not being used

Unplug electronics when not being used

Shower for 10 minutes or less

    Buy locally

    Buy less junk

Don't put the air on cold as it can go

    Use environmentally safe cleaning products

    Don't run water unneccesarily

    Carpool when possible

Water plants and lawn early in the morning

    Recycle

    Cut back on water bottles

Bring your own bag to the store

    and last...plant a tree.
