  1. Once you toe into the ice, go straight up over your foot.  If you wait then you will take off from the wrong edge and you will end up doing a flutz.  Try to take as straight a take off as you can.  Good luck!

  2. hey.. my coach says i always do that,, stay on your inside edge like leaning more to the right (i think) and just put ur foot that you are jumping on (the one with the toe pick in the ice) farther back behind ur leg,,,,, i hope it helps!! :)

  3. Go to an outside edge before taking off. Make sure you aren't switching over to an inside edge during take off. I have been doing the same thing and my coach was yelling at me for it.. :P

  4. Try keeping your eyes focused on something and keeping good posture. Keep your arms in the right postion (left in front and right just far enough back that you feel a slight pull in your uppper arm). Keep your back straight and when you reach back to tap dont fall onto the wrong edge. Lean towards your inside edge.  Focus on jumping up and not around. You must get up before you can go around. Pull your arms in to your chest when your in the air and make sure when you land pull yourself to the correct edge. Dont spin your shoulders but just lean towards your inside edge and let your body glide back. Strecth you leg out as far as you can (like someone is pulling it really hard!!!) in the direction you need to go which helps you be on the edge you need to be on.

Tip: Practice going through this off ice. Practice going through the steps slowly and telling your self EXACTLY what your doing (each move you make)!

The longer you wait to fix this it will become a habit and be VERY hard to break when you get to doubles and triples!

    Hope this helps!!!!

    Good LUCK!

  5. walk through and do a lot of singles make sure you just stay on that inside edge

    !

  6. walk through it a lot.

if you have a red circle,

then glide backward on an outside edge and hold it for a while.

then reach back slowly and pick in the ice, and make sure you don't go on an inside.

    slowly draw through

    repeat

then, when you're ready, try it from your usual pattern

also, don't be afraid to go fast!

    keep in control, though
