Question:

Tips on liquid eyeliner?

by  |  earlier

I'm 20 and I've been using pencil eyeliner my whole life, and have never tried liquid. My best friend got some in her eye when we were like 14 and it freaked me out. However, now I want to try it out to go for some bolder looks.

Do you apply it in one long stroke or a bunch of little strokes?

Is it harder to take off?

What is the best brand (at drug stores)?

Tell me all of your tips, tricks, and advice about liquid eyeliner!

  1. lauren conrad uses a liquid eyeliner...i saw it on AOL or something

but the brand is MARK and it doesn't smudge

  2. My tip is to use one which has a semi solid tip - looks like a felt tip pen. I like the ones you get from The Body Shop - they give good dense colour.

Then practice before you do your final make up, so if you smudge you can just wipe it off and start again.  Just carefully press the side of the tip against the bottom of your lashes, move along and repeat until you have covered your upper eye lid.  If you want a thicker line then just repeat, adding slightly more pressure or a thicker part of the nib.

Its that easy.  I always leave mine as the last thing before I do my mascara.  Its no harder to take off than normal make up and saves dragging your upper eyelids around too much.

  3. use pencil for the bottom of your eye if you want to line it, but use liquid on the top. that's where it matters the most anyway. you can do it in one long stroke but to make it perfect you're going to have to go back & do a few small strokes. no it's not harder to take off...no eyeliner really is unless it's waterproof. mabelline eyeliners are good for starters =]

  4. one long stroke should do depending on how thick you want it

its easier to take off because its not smudgy and leave you with that "i cried my makeup off" look

Maybelline New York  is a good choice for beginners :)

dont apply it to the bottom lid or it will irritate your eye

make sure that you change it regular to keep from getting an eye infection

  5. MK has the Best Liquid Eyeliner, Click the link below to see it and step by step instructions. You can also order online.

  6. I use wet n' wild liquid liner.  Its cheap and it works great and is great for starters because the brush is small.  I do my eyeliner in small strokes so that you get a straight line.  If you do larger strokes it leaves more error in messing up the line.  Hope that helps!
