ive only had 2 years of experience, but i think im pretty good. my club team is going to the junior olympics this year. the high school that im going to next year had a volleyball club too, and when i tried out, i got moved up to the 16's team instead of the 14s team, which is my age group, so i think im pretty good. the frosh team at the high school, to be honest, is pretty bd, so im hoping to make jv, although id have to compete with the sophmores and juniors, so any tips? thanks!

  1. do good.. haha... just dont be nervous cuz youll probably make it. if not they most likely have a freshman team anyways. at least my school does. i wish they had a guys volleyball cuz i dont wanna where d**n spandex haha.

Dont show off cuz then they will feel like youre trying to hard and then they might feel like you wont be a team player.

  2. During the tryout, show off a bit.  If you can, stand in front of the coaches when your serving or whatever and make sure they notice you.  Don't suck up, though.  Good luck!

  3. just play volleyball as best as you do! that'll be enough

you don't want to show off, and make everyone hate you!

you have to be humble about your skills, and if someone

needs help you can teach them or give them a few tips.

    coaches really really like that!

  4. just do good

  5. Be to any summer things the coach has, practice practice practice all summer, give 100% at tryouts, and do well in scrimmages. When you tryout, try to stand out, but don't be a show off. Just show your skill whenever the ball comes to you, and you will do well. If you make the fresman team, you can always get moved up :)

  6. ask the coach questions, make sure he/she knows your name, and try to get along with the other players - skills or no skills, vball is a team game.

  7. i eat p**p for dinner

  8. JV!  Wow you must be pretty confident and that is one of the pieces of the puzzle to become good at volleyball.  Everyday you should run and work out your muscles to get strong for tryouts.  Here are some exercises to help gain muscle strength so you can spike that volleyball down hard.

    Push Ups

Work the entire upper body, including the biceps and triceps (arms), pectorals (chest), and deltoids (shoulders)

    Squats

Work the quadriceps (front of thighs), Hamstrings (back of thighs) and glutes (butt)

    Back Extensions

    Strengthen the lower back muscles

    Calf Raises

    Work the calves and ankles

    Crunches

    Work the abdominal

If you work out with all of these muscles and learn the fundamentals of volleyball you can think and BE the sport!

Work hard, eat right, and PRACTICE because as the old saying goes, "Practice makes PERFECT!"

    Good luck!

  9. Work hard during the summer. Look for summer camps at colleges, and most likely, your high school will hold one too. DEFINITELY make it if they do. When you go to these camps, play to your highest level possible. If they are split up into difficulty levels, go one up from yours. You may feel out of place, but you'll learn a lot and you'll challenge yourself. Keep in shape. Run and get to the weight room. If you can, meet the varsity coach and ask for information in person. Get to every meeting, summer practice, and camp that the varsity team goes to. Focus while you're there.

I know this sounds silly, but wear a bright color shirt to try outs. I'm not kidding, it helps to get noticed. Be confident and be yourself!

  10. You need to practice, practice, pratice!! Every other day work out. Do things such as running, lifting weights, etc. Then continue to practice all of the posistions of volleyball. Look for tips online. Watch volleyball games on tv or the internet. Look in the mirror every night and say things like, "I am a GREAT player!" "I cant do this!" This will boost your confidence which leads to a better playing ability. Good luck and talk to me if you need anything else!

  11. Make sure you dont go into the tryout thinking that you HAVE to be better than everyone else. Just go in doing your best - be proud of how you play, despite anyone else possibly exceeding you in skill. Also, show the coach that your dedicated to playing. Jog to get everywhere, put the extra effort into an easy play, and listen intently to what he says. Also, dont be afraid to be assertive. If your playing a simple game such as King of the Court, make sure you're playing YOUR position. Dont let someone intimidate you into playing setter, if your a strong side hitter, or hitter if your a libero. Also, just make sure you have fun with it =) Im a rising 8th grader who will be trying out for the JV team at my home high school next year, and im confident that i will make the team!

  12. GET EVERY BALL And CALL OUT THE BALL
