    And, make sure you receive enough fiber.

  7. Not sure why everyone's telling you to drink ice water.  Granted, it slows down your digestion, but it also leaches heat from your digestive system which can lead to all kinds of nasty diseases.

    Water is a good suggestion, but room temperature, and don't guzzle, just drink normally.

    Here's something you can try.  Instead of 3 meals per day, switch to 5 smaller meals; more like 5 hearty snacks instead of big meals.  That way, your appetite is paced throughout the day so that you don't overeat, and your digestive system develops a steady pace that is easy to maintain.

    So this suggestion is not so much about suppressing appetite, but training it to work for you and with you.

    So shoot for 7-8 cups of water per day (room temp), and 5 healthy, hearty snacks per day instead of 3 big meals.  Also, as you eat, slow down.  Enjoy each bite.  Notice how the flavor of the food lasts the whole time you chew.  Eating more slowly allows your stomach to more accurately tell your brain when it's full.
